Sardinia: the scenery is breathtaking with a dazzling variety of - colours of the seas which range from deep blue through to turquoise. This land of high mountains, green plains and a superb coast line with crystal clear seas also has a mysterious past. When a people known as the Nuraghi who like the Tuscans left their mark on the island and seemingly disappeared except for the igloo shaped stone houses of which over 7000 are left on the island dating back to the pre bronze age. Twice the size of Corsica and a lot more friendlier and unlike its French neighbour you will find quality restaurants abound at reasonable prices. Local wines especially whites are excellent. Scenery, sea, beaches, mountains and ideal temperatures from April to November - what more can one ask for?
