Get away from it all and relax in this delightful detached cottage in the centre of a secluded pretty garden which features mature lemon and apricot trees. It has a large, covered terrace with a stone-built barbecue and sink and is nicely furnished to become almost an outdoor dining room!

Whilst hidden away amidst greenery it therefore really no views to speak of but it does have this lovely location if you admire flowers and shrubs. From the large terrace the entrance is directly into the comfortable lounge with some easy chairs and a fireplace to admire. The separate kitchen contains a washing machine, cooking hobs, fridge/freezer. There are two delightful bedrooms both with en-suite bathrooms. There is one with a double bed and the other is twin bedded. Both bathrooms have showers. The interior is well furnished and very comfortable.

The house is located on the slopes of Mount Etna in the village of Valverde and it is possible to walk the 900 yards to a restaurant and also shops. Whilst the main seaside town of Acirale offers a larger selection. The drawback if you are into beaches is that the nearest sandy one is 14 kms drive away, however the main attractions of the region Taromina and Siracuse are quickly reached by car and clearly car rental is essential.

An inexpensive property but offering a good degree of comfort.

Valverde is a little town 11km from Catania and only 5km from Acireale, situated on the southeast slopes of Mount Etna and not far from the coast. Acireale meanwhile, occupies a flat stretch of lava, (or as it is known today, the lemon Riviera) high above the sea and was founded around the 14th century. Here is the Baroque church of San Sebastiano, the Neo Gothic façade to the cathedral and it is also a thermal town. It is one of the most important centres for the puppet theatre, which still survives even if only for tourists.

Driving east is Taormina and Messina, westwards beyond Catania and Siracusa and Ragusa and Palermo is scarcely more than two hours’ drive away.

If clients arrive late at the property, without advising the owner about late arrival after 8pm they will be charged 50 euros payable locally. A final cleaning charge excludes kitchens (which must be left neat, tidy, and cookers cleaned and crockery washed and returned to cupboards) Rubbish should all have been disposed of and not left in the property - this includes wine/beer pop bottles and cans etc.
