My Travel's Explorers Hotel®  

My Travel's Explorers Hotel® is located on the Disney site this is one of three new hotels constructed recently about 1km from the Disney owned hotels. There is a constant shuttle bus service (FREE) to and from the Disneyland Theme Park Gates which are about 3km away - too far for walking, but the hotel is possibly better for children than some of the other Disney hotels.

The Explorer which has a "pirates" style theme has a large indoor pool with slides, a play area in the shape of a sailing ship, a children's play area ideal for under 6 years with lots of swing ropes, climbing walls and netted softballs to jump into with no damage to offspring whatsoever! Well designed to keep kids happy including a children's theatre and also an entertainment room.

There is a separate, full service restaurant - the "Captains Library" and another restaurant/breakfast room and a "Smugglers" bar for the adults. To keep the kiddies content there is a special children's menu available in the restaurants and also a pizza takeaway. Attention has been to making kids happy and on our visit it seemed to be working!

The “crew” rooms for 4 have one double bed and two single beds. The six berth “crew” rooms are slightly larger and have a double bed, two twins and bunk beds (suitable for children up to 15 years) in an alcove area.

All these bedrooms have one en suite bathroom with hairdryer, bath and shower over, washbasin and WC - they also have a ceiling fan, satellite TV (2 in rooms for 6) with pay videos and games. For larger families a “crew” room for 10 comprises 2 adjoining 4-bedded rooms with bunk beds between and includes 2 bathrooms.

“Officer” rooms offer all the features of “crew” rooms plus tea and coffee making facilities, a special toiletry pack and a surprise gift for each child.

Suites are ideal for those who like a little more luxury – they sleep 5 and include 2 bathrooms, a living area and air conditioning. There are three themed suites – Sweet Suite, Explorers Jungle Suite – Planet Hollywood Suite.

Continental breakfast is included for both adults and children.
