Florence - a City famous for its artists, ornate buildings and bridge!
The epicentre of Tuscany, the splendours of Florence are too numerous to describe fully, but strangely enough most of the attraction tends to be indoors rather than out in the brilliant sunshine.
Of course, there are some wonderful buildings, such as the Duomo and its Baptistry. And you can wander along the banks of the Arno past the Pizzadsdella Signora to the medieval Ponte Vecchio whose walls are lined with miniature shops.
Much more of your time will be taken visiting the huge collection of paintings in the Uffizzi Gallery, the Museo del'Opera del Duomo, the frescos and paintings in the many chapels - such as Santa Maria del Carmine or the monk's cells in San Marco.
If all the history and art Florence has to offer is not enough, you can take a train (one hour) to Siena and start all over again!
