Hotel Vila Gale

For the fitness types the hotel has an indoor SWIMMING POOL and Jacuzzi.

A modern four star hotel with only 62 rooms which is located in a tree lined square in the centre of the city just a few steps away from the old town town and to the main shopping streets. Lots of bars and restaurants within a few hundred metres.

All the bedrooms are air-conditioned and the en-suite bathrooms are complete with a hair dryer. Other facilities include Satellite TV, tea/coffee making facilities/direct dial telephone and a mini bar.

The public rooms include a lovely lounge bar open until the early hours and a restaurant where the full buffet breakfast is served each morning and included into our room rates.

Located on Avenue da Boavista one of the upmarket shopping and business streets about twokm from the historic old town.

Modern four star hotel with some 120 rooms all being fully air-conditioned and having Satellite TV, telephone and en-suite bathrooms. Two rooms available for the disabled.

Downstairs: two restaurants, lounge bar and baby-sitting arrangements can be made at reception. Two children under 14 years in parents room-FREE of charge!

Hotel Praca da Batalha

Built back in the early ‘60’s this hotel was totally refurbished in 1997 and is in a central position on a main square within easy walking distance of bars, shops, restaurants and about 1km from the old town area.

Fully air conditioned rooms - ensuite bathrooms have hairdryers. Each room has Satellite TV, tea and coffee making facilities and direct dial telephone.

Downstairs: Restaurants serving buffet style breakfast (included in rates) and there is a lounge bar.

Hotel da Bolsa

Pleasant traditional hotel in the centre of the city only 50 metres from the Bolas Palace and the Port Wine Museum being a short walk to the main square, shops and restaurants.

The hotel has only 36 rooms each with en suite bathrooms and fully air conditioned-with one bedroom designed for the disabled. Rooms have Sat TV.

Downstairs: Very agreeable bar, large breakfast room with buffet breakfast included into our room rates. Parking is available.

Le Meridien Park Atlantico

A rather posh hotel in the up market shopping and business district of the city in the fashionable Avenue Boavista, which is around 3km from the old town centre. However there are smart shops, bars and restaurants locally and the hotel organises boat trips along the nearby river Douro.

Despite being a five star hotel the property has little in the way of leisure facilities but it does have splendid rooms and even better has a 3 nights for the price of two at all week ends from April onwards - so a 5 star hotel for the price of a three star is an ideal opportunity for Friday arrivals.

Rooms as expected are rather swish-fully air conditioned of course with lovely bathrooms, which have bath and shower and complete with hairdryer. Rooms are equipped with a mini bar, Satellite TV, room safe and even a modem to keep in touch with the office! Non-smoking floors and rooms for the disabled.

Full buffet breakfast is included with this quality weekend bargain hotel.
