Getting around the Neapolitan Coastline
by bus and / or train.
If you have decided not to rent a car and (even if you have) it may be better for
your stress levels to jump on a bus or train to take the strain out of driving around some of the narrow streets and roads in this region of Italy.
Using the Circumvesuviana and Sita company buses and trains, the tickets costs are as follows:
Up to 45 minutes travel 2 euros per person
90 minutes travel 3 euros per person
THE ABOVE PRICES ALLOW TRAVEL FROM SORRENTO to SALERNO and all resorts in between. (Tickets are based on travel time) so you may have to pay 2 euros each way if your route duration is very long.
There are longer duration tickets, which also allow use of the City Sightseeing buses on the Amalfi - Ravello and Amalfi - Minori routes.
24 hour tickets - 6 euros; 3 day tickets - 15 euros.
Tickets are purchased from the bus stations and many stores, which usually means tobacconists in most resorts. YOU CANNOT BOARD A BUS WITHOUT A TICKET. In many cases the tickets must be time punched when you board the bus.
