Holiday Apartments in Bavaria, Germany- self catering apartments - chalets - villas -![]() The region of Bavaria is quite different from the rest of Germany. By far the largest province in the country the region has a more relaxed style and is the land of lederhosen and traditional dress worn by the ladies at many occasions and of course its famous sunny beer gardens and the Munich Festival! ![]() Neuschwanstein Castle Then there are the fairy tale style castles such as Neuschwanstein built in the 19th century by “Mad King Ludwig” as he was known and the late Walt Disney took inspiration from the architecture that is now world famous in his theme parks. The best scenery that the province offers has to be south of Munich which offers stunning scenery with its lakes, alpine pastures all rolling down to the highest mountain peaks that separate Germany from Austria many of which on average reach 6000 feet into the sky. ![]() Southwest of Munich is the Allgau region which has picturesque lakes such as Wallensee and Forggensee and lots of pretty villages- each with a church and their onion shaped spires. Only 30 minutes drive away is Germany’s highest Mountain the Zugspitze just south of Garmisch Partenkirchen. There is a cogwheel train and then a cable car to the top of the 3000 metres (9000 feet) summit when it is said one can see four different countries. The trip at around £25 return (half price for under 14’s) is a bargain compared to taking a similar journey up the Jungfrau Hoch in Switzerland GO TO: www.zugspitze.de ![]() Southeast brings you to Berchtesgadenland, which offers Germany’s largest lake: Chiemsee. Then there is Hitler’s Eagles Nest, (GO TO: www.letsgo-europe.com ) From the village of Obersalzberg you can take a bus trip to the entrance and then the original lift to this infamous mountain home to Adolf Hitler and walk the same grounds with its fantastic views. Add in the fact that and the nearby cities of Innsbruck and Salzburg (all within a 50 minutes drive) and you have a perfect region to explore. So as they say locally “Gruss Gott und Willkommen” to Bavaria!
SACHRANG APARTMENTSThis is one of two buildings located on a holiday park in the village of Sachrang but a few 100 metres from the Austrian border and about 20km south of Lake Chiemsee and 12km from Lake Walchsee. Lovely area with the added bonus of some on site attractions that include a lake, a sauna and whirlpool, barbecue area beside the lake and with lovely views of the nearby Prientals mountains. Quiet, relaxing and very handy for sightseeing both Bavaria and the Tyrol. Innsbruck is 10km, Munich is 90km and Salzburg is 70km. In Aschau (10 km) there is an indoor pool - plenty of marked walking paths start from the resort and there is tennis and mini golf in Sachrang village. We offer three types of apartments: Type B: for 2 - 4 One bedroomed apartments that offer a lounge with a three piece suite (the sofa converts to a double bed). The kitchen has three hot plates, fridge freezer, dishwasher, cooker hood, coffee machine and a toaster. One double bedroom with cot. Bathroom with shower, WC and washbasin.
Type C: for 3 - 6 Larger than type B but has the bedroom with a double bed and a set of bunk beds to increase the sleeping of up to four adults and two children under 12.
Type D: for 4 - 6 Good spacious unit (70 sq metres of floor area). Living room with dining area, 3 piece suite – sofa bed for two. The kitchen is identical to B & C. Two bedrooms – one with a double bed and the other with a set of bunk beds and a single bed. One bathroom with shower, WC and washbasin.
All apartments have colour TV and include a supply of bed linen, energy and even final cleaning. There is a laundry room, daily bread delivery. Departures and arrivals can be Saturday or Sundays (mornings only) in high season (July/August). Any day arrivals from April to June and September to October. Minimum rental is 7 nights.

The town of Inzell is backed by high mountains and is on the edge of the Cheimgau nature park. The town offers a good choice of cafes and restaurants as well as shopping and a supermarket. ![]() The complex offers an indoor swimming pool and within 75 yards walk is an open-air swimming pool (entrance fee) Also on offer is a fitness room, children’s play room with billiards, table tennis and pinball machines. Laundry room with washing machine and dryers (coin-operated – 3 euros). Outside a children’s playground with swings, a roundabout and sand pit.

Apartments Type B. Ref : D-83334/1C Consists of a living room with some easy chairs, a double sofa bed for two persons, Sat-TV. Kitchenette with small fridge and hot plates (2) and a coffee maker. One separate bedroom with double bed. Bathroom having a bath with shower over, washbasin and WC Apartment Type D. Ref: D-83334/1D These are larger units with the living room having a sofa bed and easy chairs. Kitchenette as type B .Two bedrooms – one double and one twin bedroom. ![]() Bungalows Weissensee Ref.: D-87629/1 Located on a the banks of lake Weissensee the bungalow park lies in a superb setting being surrounded by the peaks of the Allgau mountains. Almost on the Austrian border and near to the much larger Lake Forggensee the park is just 10 minutes drive from the famous Neuschwantsein castle build by the so called Mad King Ludwig and his fairy tale fantasy was copied by Walt Disney for his theme parks all over the world. Nearby Fussen is a most attractive town and has a good choice of shops and supermarkets as well as a wide choice for eating out in cafes and restaurants. Our only advice is watching the calories – portions are large! ![]() ![]()
The Bungalows – sleep 4 persons. These detached houses have a private terrace with outdoor furniture and surrounded by lawns. Each one has a living room with easy chairs, cable TV (only German language). Separate kitchen with oven, four hot plates and a coffee maker. Two bedrooms – one with a double bed and the other with twin beds. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, washbasin and WC. The reception has a laundry unit (coin operated). Other facilities include a children’s playground, a football field and two table tennis units. Swimming is possible in the lake and boat can also be hired. The nearest heated pool is three miles away (entrance fee applies) ![]() ![]()
