Rail Tour of Rome, Florence and Venice
Based on flights into Rome and return from Venice (or visa versa) we offer this 7 day tour (6 nights) which comprise 2 nights in Rome, 2 nights in Florence and 2 nights in Venice with travel by rail from Rome to Florence and then onwards to Venice to stay three nights. This tour can be modified to accommodate longer durations or even just 2 cities.
2 Nights in ROME ![]() Arrive on Tuesday / Wednesday or Thursday: Welcome to Rome! We shall have chosen a three or four-star hotel in the epicentre of the Eternal city. You will soon discover the Vatican with its Sistine chapel and the famous ceiling paintings by Michelangelo. ![]() Then the Colosseum, which could once be, flooded for sea battles enactments. Visits to the Trevi Fountains and Rome’s famous shopping street of Via Veneto will quickly exhaust your time. Then on the third day transfer independently to the railway station in the city centre for your afternoon departure to Florence. 2 Nights in FLORENCE ![]() Evening arrival into Florence central station and take a taxi to your city centre hotel to stay 2 nights. Please click HERE to view hotel details Your time will be taken up on your visit to the Uffizi Museum, the amazing Palazzo Vecchio with its giant statues and town hall. The arts museum, The Uffizi, is but a few steps away, whilst a stroll across the Ponte Vecchia with its expensive shops over the river Arno brings you to riverside restaurants with some of the best views of the city. ![]() The following day a “must-see” is the Bargello Museum. This magnificent museum of sculpture is housed in this 13th century Palace and at one time was the main police station from which executions took place until the 18th century. Also try to fit in a visit to the Palazzo Pitti - the largest of the city-galleries containing traditional and modern paintings, a museum and has huge gardens with lakes, which overlook the city. 2 Nights in VENICE ![]() ![]() Independent transfers to the main termini rail station to take the train to Venice and stay 2 nights in this city of canals, gondolas and churches. You can also visit the lido area, the islands in the bay and enjoy a very expensive coffee in St Mark’s square or maybe something easier on the pocket in the side streets that lead to the square.
