HOTEL CORALLO

This three star hotel is in a lovely position overlooking the harbour of Isola Rosso and has been recently renovated with some very nice rooms equipped with en - suite bathrooms, colour TV and balcony. Those that face the sea have exceptionally large balconies and sea views of course. They do however have a supplement for these rooms. All are fully air conditioned

Downstairs the hotel has a pleasant restaurant which is air conditioned and during summer opens up onto a super sized terrace for out door dining offering part sea and harbour views.The menu is both a la carte and menus of the day. We felt that the excellent Sardinian wines were rather expensive at around 12 euros – but wine in a caraffe is inexpensive and good quality for the red local wine.

The owners, Patrick and Giovanna, a delightful French Italian couple, speak perfect English and are very keen to welcome guests and also give out lots of local information, brochures and tips about the local area.

Very good location in the centre of the sleepy resort near to bars, only yards from the sea and about 200 yards walk from fine sand beaches and crystal clear waters - what more could one ask for??

- a swimming pool has been completed in the garden area and measures 40x20 feet!

Apartments Lungomare

These old harbour houses have been converted into very attractive two bedroomed apartments with harbour and sea views and many an hour can be spent with a drink looking on to the activities of the small fishing boats and other craft below.

Well equipped they have a fitted kitchenette with four rings, a fridge freezer and a good sized living room with French windows opening onto a balcony with table and chairs and harbour views. There is one double bedroom. One bathroom with boxed shower washbasin and WC. From the lounge a metal stair case to a very large attic room which does have a sloping ceiling with a double bed and its own shower room and WC.

Bungalows Collina

Rather pleasant bungalows constructed in local stone and both detached and semi detached bungalow style. Complete with gardens and oudoor furniture. They are between 1 and 3km from Isola Rosso and Spiaggi Marinedda beaches - both fine sand and with crystal clear seas. Located in hill side settings they offer a calm and tranquil holidays but a car is needed as nearest shops restaurants and bars are some 2km distance.

Type C1 sleeps 4/6

Semi detached bungalows which contain a living room with a double sofa bed. Kitchenette with four hot plates - some do not have ovens, fridge freezer etc. One bedroom with a double bed, second bedroom with twin beds. One bathroom with a boxed shower washbasin and WC

Type D1 sleeps 6/8

Detached or semi detached houses which have a lawned garden(can be scorched in July August!) Consists of a living room. Kitchenette with four hot plates but not always an oven. Three bedrooms - one with a double bed and two rooms with twin beds. Two bathrooms both with shower WC Washbasin and bidet.

Extra beds are possible at 30 euros per week. Do remember that extra charges payable locally for bed linen and towels or a cot...........

Residence Isola Rosso

These are well out of the village and 2km from one of the two nearest beaches. But they have a hill side outlook and some of the apartments have a distant sea view. A car would be a needed as nearest shops are 2km in either direction. Terraced type buildings with ground and first floor apartments which are ideal for couples. The residence is set about 100 metres from the main road and quiet location.

Type B sleeps 2/3

They have a living room, kitchenette with 4 hot plates (no oven) fridge etc. French windows onto a sunny balcony with outdoor furniture. One separate bedroom with a double bed. Bathroom with boxed shower WC washbasin. Outside parking for one car. Modern, reasonable furnishings. Payments do have to be made locally for bed linen and towels. Details see below.

Residence Tanca della Torre

These apartments are located only a 100 metres from the sea and fine sand beaches in the centre of this peaceful fishing village. Ideal being near to bars, restaurants, shops and the boating marina yet far enough away from centre to be quiet in the height of the season in August. Because they are all independently owned, each apartment have different styles and quality of furnishings.

They are recent construction and are only ground floor and top floor units - there are about 50 apartments in several different buildings - some of which are for full time residents. They are available all year round. We have visited three apartments and were impressed with the standards of furnishing. They are not however large apartments the one bedroomed types being fine for two persons - and only the larger ones which have two bedrooms would we suggest for 4/5 persons. All the properties have good sized balconies or terraces and come equipped with colour TV (Italian programmes only) and each has a car parking space.

They vary between 200 and 300 metres from the fine sandy beach and equal distance from shops, supermarket and restaurants such as the Hotel Corallo. We can arrange transfers to and from Alghero or Olbia airports but we feel that as pleasant as this resort is, it would be far better to have a hired car to explore the area and visit such sites as Castelsardo Castle, Costa Smeralda and the nearby more deserted beaches. For a stay of just one week, the car rental would be almost as cheap as the taxi transfer.

Type B1 - Sleep 2/3

Have a living room with combined kitchenette which has four hot rings, fridge with small freezer section. Some easy furniture in the shape of a double sofa
bed with French windows opening to a good sized balcony and outdoor table and chairs.One twin or double bedded bedroom. Bathroom with shower wc & washbasin.

Type C - Sleep 4/5

These are as Type B1 but have two bedrooms - one with double bed and the other with bunk beds.

Type C1 - Sleep 4/6

Two separate bedrooms - one twin and one double plus a double sofa bed in the lounge.
