We have a range of holiday accommodation in and around Cagliari, located in the south of the island. On this page we have self catering accommodation in the areas of Villasimius; Costa Rei and Porto Corallo. On another page we have some self catering accommodation in and around Cagliari at Torre delle Stelle and Flumini. Getting there: By Air to Cagliari:

New services are up and running from Luton three times per week (they operate on Fridays Thursdays and Mondays) with Volare Air - rates vary according to load factors but they start at around £100 return including taxes.

British Airways start summer only services from 1st May onwards from Gatwick only. They operate three times a week (Fri/Sat/Sun) and rates vary but start from £108 including taxes.

There are no reductions for children with these two airlines except for children under the age of two years who do not occupy a seat.

VILLASIMIUS

It is situated on the most south eastern point of Sardinia, and a panoramic 50 minutes drive from the capital and international airport of Cagliari.

Piccolo Residence Campus is situated in Campus in the area of Villasimius, a nice village very famous for its wonderful beaches. This small residence is composed of 4 units. Each apartment has a living room with sofa bed, cooking facilities a bedroom, a bathroom and a veranda. Fan. Barbecue. Washing machine. Outside shower.

The distance from the beach of Campus is around 600 metres. Nearby there is a market, restaurants, discos and most of the best white sandy beaches of the south coast. It is at approx 3km from the touristic port of Villasimius.

We suggest this accommodation to families with 2 children or groups of young friends looking for nice beaches. The residence is not too far from Cagliari, and gives the possibility to make excursion in the capital and therefore good shopping. We also suggest this place for the competitive rates.

Villasimius: Azursea Apartments, Sardegna

Residence Azursea Apartments, Sardegna is surrounded by countryside, in a pleasant spot in a valley which opens onto the silver beach at Simius. The complex is approximately 800 metres from the sea, and consists of some bungalow style properties around a central hotel accommodation with two floors which overlook a swimming pool.

We offer four types of accommodation, two in the main hotel and two in the bungalow style properties.

Rondine Double Rooms (sleeps 2+1): located in the main building, this type of accommodation comprises two rooms, one with a large double bed; a bathroom with shower & WC; and a living room with a single size sofa bed. These rooms have a safe, air - conditioning, telephone, colour TV and their own terrace.

Tortora Apartments (sleeps 2+2): located in the main building, this type of accommodation comprises two rooms, one with a large double bed; a bathroom with shower & WC; and a living room with one or two single size sofa beds. These rooms have a safe, air - conditioning, telephone, colour TV and their own terrace.

Upupa Villa (sleeps 2+2): a two - roomed bungalow styled property, this type of accommodation comprises two rooms, one with a large double bed; a bathroom with shower & WC; and a living room with one or two single size sofa beds. These rooms have a telephone, colour TV and their own furnished patio and garden.

Colomba Villa (sleeps 4+1): a three room villa styled property, this type of accommodation comprises two rooms, both with a large double bed; two bathrooms with shower & WC; and a kitchen area with a single size sofa beds. These rooms have a telephone, colour TV and their own furnished patio and garden.
NB This house has an external staircase to the top floor and therefore NOT suitable for families with young children.

COSTA REI

 

Costa Rei is located in the south east of the coast around 70km from Cagliari.

This area is characterised by luxuriant Mediterranean vegetation sloping down to a transparent enchanting sea that is framed by long white sandy beaches, secluded coves and beautiful cliffs.

Semi - detached, it’s situated in Monte Nai in the area of Costa Rei, a nice place very famous for its wonderful beaches. Costa Rei is at around 70km from Cagliari. There is a kiosk on the beach at approx 50 m from the unit. Nearby there are market, restaurants, discos and most of the best white sandy beaches of the south coast.

It comprises:

Entrance living room with sofa bed and wall fan opening onto a spacious covered veranda, small kitchen, 1 shower room, 1 double bedroom, 1 bedroom with 2 beds.

Barbecue. Outside shower. Very simply furnished

Costa Rei

Sant Elmo Villas

Lovely location adjacent to the St Elmo hotel with direct access to a good sized beach which, although public, is almost a private beach because of the security gates to the main grounds. There is a management office on site, where they do speak English and can offer advice on the area.

The properties are all bungalow style and are split into three types – we liked them all because of their spacious and very private terrace, and the feeling that apart from sleeping you could live and eat outdoors almost permanently.

Bilos – sleep 2/3: Terraced stone built bungalows which you enter via a tiny garden, enclosed on two sides with a barbecue area and then into a large covered terrace. The living room is a good size with a double sofa bed. The fitted kitchenette has a full oven, four hot plates and fridge/freezer. One bedroom with a double bed or twin beds. Bathroom with shower, WC and washbasin.

Trilos – sleep 4/6: Stone built, these semi detached bungalows have a super sized terrace enclosed on two sides for privacy. Front door into a living room which has a double sofa bed, a fully fitted kitchen as per the bilo, and two bedrooms – one is double bedded and the other has twin beds. One bathroom with shower cubicle, WC and washbasin.

Villas – sleeps 4/6. Now these really are for the al fresco family. A huge terrace separates the sleeping and living quarters – here you can step out of the bedroom and enjoy the early sun rise without disturbing everyone else as you make coffee or tea. On the right is the living room with feature fireplace, a separate kitchen with table and chairs and the first bathroom contains a washing machine as well as a shower and WC. Across the terrace are the bedrooms, one twin and one double, and between the two is a bathroom with shower, WC and washbasin.

At first an odd design, but one that works in the sunny climes of southern Sardinia. Many of these houses have sea views and some are within 75 yards of the sea and beach – others are up to 200 yards distant.

Drawback: We didn’t like the poor quality access unsurfaced roads, but the idea that you cannot park nearby except to collect baggage, seemed to be a good idea – both to avoid noise and fumes and as a safety precaution for children.

Within walking distance (200 - 400 metres) are a pizzeria, supermarket and a very upmarket mini golf course complete with equally smart bar.

PORTO CORALLO - VILLAPUTZU

Located in the south east corner of the island, this is a long stretch of fine sand beach backed by green hills – it has several developments which are all located within 100 yards of the sea. The beach is about 1km in length and, reminiscent of Caribbean style, has several beach bars with open verandas and a central bar area. In addition, there are canoes, pedaloes and sun loungers to rent, as well as ‘beach teams’ employed to organise childrens’ activities. All these facilities are available from Whitsun to mid September.

A leisure complex is also available which offers a large open - air swimming pool and childrens’ pool, 4 tennis courts and mini golf, as well as a planned beauty and hydrotherapy studio. There is a weekly fee of €15 for use of this pool.

There are two restaurants in the village centre, plus a pizzeria and a bread shop which stocks basic groceries. Main supermarkets are some 6km away.

There are three holiday centres in this area.

Villaputzu - Porto Corallo

These are in two locations, all have part or side views of the sea.

Bungalows sleep 4/6: Bungalows are stepped into the hillside and have tiny gardens, good sized terraces and a side view of the sea – which is between 100 and 200 yards away. Each has two bedrooms, some with double, some with twin beds, some with bunk beds in the second bedroom. There’s a good sized living room with double sofa bed and large French windows opening onto the terrace. The fully fitted kitchenettes all have a large oven, four hot plates and a large fridge with freezer section. One bathroom has good quality shower cubicle, WC and washbasin.

Trilos - sleep up to 6: These are on two floors and have a garden at the rear and a terrace with part sea views. Built into the hill, they offer rear access over a small lawned garden. The top floor has two bedrooms, one with twin beds, the other with a double bed. One bathroom with shower, wc and washbasin. A fairly steep staircase goes down to the lower floor which has a spacious living room with dining area and a double sofa bed. The fully fitted kitchen has an oven, four hot plates and fridge/freezer. A massive window with sliding doors leads onto a good sized terrace with lawn and a cold water hose supply for each apartment to wash off the sand from the beach before entering the property.

Bilos - sleep up to 4: These are on one floor and have a large living room with fitted kitchen as per the larger apartment. terrace or large balcony with part sea view. One bedroom has twin or double bed. Bathroom with shower cubicle, wc and washbasin.

NB Both types are stepped and in some cases there are 40 steps up to the apartment front door.

There is is to a swimming pool at Porto Corrallo which has to be paid for - a one week pass costs €15 euros PER WEEK per client. The pool is open from 26 June.

Near the beach at Porto Corrallo are two pizzeria restaurants within walking distance and a takeaway snack bar.

A futuristic building which offers 5 very large studios and 3 one bedroomed apartments in the ‘tower; the top one has a massive sun roof with stunning views of the sea and countryside. They are all air conditioned and of very high quality throughout.

Studios (sleep 2/3) Large living room area with a full kitchenette complete with built in oven, four hot plates and fridge/freezer; a sofa bed and lots of space within dining area and huge sliding French windows opening onto a large tiled covered terrace. There is a separate bedroom area with double bed. The bathroom has a shower cubicle, WC and washbasin.

One bedroom apartments (sleep 2/4). These are built in the round tower, and contain a large lounge, fully fitted kitchen (as the studios), double sofa bed for two and dining area. One bedroom with a double bed and a fully tiled bathroom with shower, WC and washbasin.

Near the beach at Porto Corrallo are two pizzeria restaurants within walking distance and a takeaway snack bar.
