Castellammare del Golfo: The area is located in the north-east tip of the island about 40km west of Palermo airport - a delightful mixture of wild and impressive scenery with a wide 100km range of unspoilt beaches. Then there is the Zingaro Nature Reserve, with marked footpaths. Further north the Capo San Vito peninsular and its miles of quiet beaches backed by mountains. Castellammare and Scopello offer restaurants, shopping and beaches. The fishing village of Scopello is the more attractive with narrow cobbled streets which meander around a former Mansion House.
